Isomalto-oligosaccharide Description:
Isomalto-oligosaccharide Tapioca powder 900 is a mixture of short-chain carbohydrates made of glucose molecules which are linked with each other through a digestion resistant bonding. IMO is a high quality, high-purity isomalto-oligosaccharide (IMO), made from enzymatic conversion of starch. It functions as a dietary fiber, prebiotic and low-calorie sweetener.
IMOs are a mixture of short-chain carbohydrates that possess certain digestion-resistant properties. Basically, the human GI tract has a difficult time breaking them down and absorbing any of the calories or nutrients they contain.
The great thing about IMOs is that they are low glycemic, resist dental caries (cavities), and are a rich source of prebiotics, bacteria that foster the growth of healthy bacteria in the gut.
